A little overwhelmed by the ever changing fashion trends? Well, you’re not alone. Be inspired by these simple and uncomplicated fresh summer looks that tick all the right boxes, when it comes to comfort, timeless style and practicality.

Seeing the new season collections in a high-end fashion campaign is one thing, but wearing these trends, day-to-day, is another. The wardrobe dilemma of incorporating trends into our life is real, so we’ve created a number of key ‘every day’ looks that not only feature stock that is currently in store, but will easily translate into your world.

Denim

Most people really over think the ‘double denim’ look, so to make it easier, we’ve worked with a denim skirt and a chambray shirt in similar shades of blue.

These two pieces are wardrobe staples and can be worn over and over again – the denim skirt can be teamed with a tee and the shirt can be worn with jeans, black pants and other separates.

Wearing denim to work is simple. Denim culottes are comfortable, chic and can be instantly dressed up when teamed with a patterned silk shirt and blazer. If your company isn’t a fan of denim, then you can definitely wear them on casual Friday.

TIP: Add a bag in a different colour to break-up the blues. An oversized tote (hello storage) in caramel, is not only handy for lugging all of your belongings, but it breaks up tones.

Colour

Let’s begin our colour journey with the basics; black and white. If you layer different materials (eg: denim and cotton) and stick to minimal/no fuss designs, you can’t go wrong. A long white cotton dress teamed with a white denim jacket is one way to wear the classic all white look – add some simple metallic slides and you’re set. If wearing all white concerns you, then team a textured black and white top with simple white denim shorts. White is the colour of the season, so embrace it.

From polka-dots to vibrant colours and florals, patterns are summer. For work you can tone down a colourful floral dress with an elegant white jacket and then embrace colour on the weekend with fun jumpsuits and feminine printed dresses.

TIP: If your outfit is bursting with colour be sure to wear neutral shoes in either white, nude, gold or black. It will stop your shoes fighting for attention.

Gym Attire

Be honest, you sometimes wear your gym gear all day, don’t you? That’s ok, this isn’t a trend that is going anywhere, it’s a shift in lifestyle. Embrace your activewear by mixing high-performance pieces from Lululemon, with casual pieces from Decjuba. The stylish colours and prints from Lululemon make it easy to throw on a baseball cap, causal sneakers and cross body bag and head out for the day after a walk or gym session.

TIP: Explore layering different colours and always have a baseball cap handy. It is the quickest way to do your hair some mornings, and protects your skin from the harsh summer sun.
